William Gordon
regards his choice of subject matter (and treatment of final
print) sufficient proof of his intent, providing both context
and aesthetic stance. He hopes that each briefly titled image
stands free of elaborate description, analysis or inward narrative.
However, William Gordon
is more forthcoming about his Classics! (the classic
car prints he prepares at leisure). He delights in the play
of natural light on sculptural form: the complex motor casting,
hand-beaten alloy wing, razor-edge line. As well as the downward
fall of light, he looks for the complementary shadow beneath
the vehicle - that subtle counterbalance to all the polished
brass and chrome!
William Gordon
produces permanent oil-based pigment prints in small-number
limited editions. He also creates the photographic monorpint.
Each '1/1' print has a significant distinguishing variant
of pigment chroma, media material and format size. |
